Creating From Chaos
What to do if you feel incited by the Collective Crap (otherwise known as uncertainty, overwhelm or chaos, call it any name you choose).
In times of uncertainty and chaos, it can be easy to feel overwhelmed and anxious about the future. However, what if we viewed chaos not as something to be feared, but as a creative energy to be harnessed? In this blog post, we explore the concept of creating from chaos and how slowing down and seeing chaos for what it is, can actually lead to powerful transformation and spiritual growth. By stepping back, taking a breath, and trusting the process, we can move from chaos to creation and become like cosmic magicians, shaping our own lives and the world around us.
The Fear of Chaos
There is fear about the economy, fear about what is happening at work, fear about what could happen in politics, planet Earth. So what do you do? Uncertainty, overwhelm, and doing things are useful - sure. But they are also mischievous like Loki - causing anarchy of the mind when met with unconsciousness. By itself, chaos is just fine but if we attach to it, create a narrative, and then call it the absolute truth, we end up living our lives by it.
What to do?
When we slow down we are able to see it for what it is: a sign, an invitation. An invitation to do what? Create from Chaos! How do you do that? Again. And again and again.
First, Slow down.
You are going to hear this from me a lot. We move at warp speed. It’s time to slow down.
Secondly, remember that chaos isn’t bad or wrong. Remember that after the big bang, chaos followed and everything you know to be, was created from that chaos. Chaos is a creative energy to be harnessed/wielded and utilized to make something.
Make what, you ask?
Third, you get to decide what to make. Like a cosmic magician, you can create yourself, you also get to create the world around you and chaos can be your ride or die. Your partner. When you invite and allow it in.
What does this look like in a practical sense?
I was working with a client who seemed to be going in circles talking about all of the things that are wrong, bad, or overwhelming in his life. Listening, one’s mind might even think there is “a lot” going on and be concerned his chaos can infiltrate places, spaces, and people .
Me, I smile and get excited when this happens. I begin to rub my metaphorical magical hands together and invite all the chaos in. I breathe into it and for this client, I used this exact metaphor above to imagine if this were just a few moments after his own big bang, what would he create?
For you, you can take a mental magic wand and play with aligning the particles floating around in your own cosmos.
Or… you can just let these particles, this chaos float and just allow them to settle where they land. And notice what evolves.
What does that mean?
A person around you, for example, your kid or your employee is acting out, seemingly to annoy you, and you alone. You can step back, and see this as chaos instead of overwhelm or something to get rid of. And you can trust that this kid/employee will work it out.
You do not have to put more chaos into the space.
Chaos could be shouting, arguments, and drama on social media. Someone insulting you.
The formula doesn’t change really:
You can slow down.
Step back.
Smile.
See it for what it really is: A process to go from Chaos to Creation.
Trust.
Your Challenge
Find some chaos and create from it. Oh yes - this could be a conflict on social media or chaos you’ve created in your closet or garage. Or a conflict with your kiddos - get in there and create from the chaos!
Have fun, play with this - sound scary? It’s supposed to be, it’s a challenge!
